Lowestoft Engineering Provision delivers specialised 1:1 engineering education for learners aged 14 and above. Our mission is to support young people who may not thrive in mainstream settings- including those with SEND, exclusions, or home education backgrounds - by providing safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
What we do:
Through hands on projects in a real workshop setting, learners develop practical engineering skills alongside confidence, resilience, and pride in their achievements. Every project is underpinned by health and safety awareness and a result in a product learners can take home giving them a tangible sense of success.
Our ethos:
We are motivated by inclusion and driven by pupil success. Our focus is on valuing every learner, fostering personal growth, and building brighter futures through engineering.

Lowestoft Engineering Provision is built on the combined expertise of two people with a passion for making a difference.
- Mike brings over 25 years of hands-on engineering experience across the trade. His background in machining and workshop practice ensures that learners are introduced to safe, authentic engineering methods, gaining skills that are genuinely industry relevant.
- Emma contributes more than 20 years of experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Her focus on inclusion, patience, and tailored individual support ensures every learner feels safe, valued, and capable of achieving.
Together we are just beginning this journey - starting small but with a clear vision: to provide young people who may struggle in mainstream education with a safe space to learn, create, and succeed. Through 1:1 engineering projects, we aim to help learners build not only practical skills, but also confidence, resilience, and a sense of pride in what they can achieve.
